Gazprom Energoholding may build wind power plant in Serbia

MOSCOW, Dec 21 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Gazprom Energoholding is considering construction of a wind power plant in Serbia with a capacity of up to 100 megawatts (MW), Paver Sergeyev, director of the company’s Serbian subsidiary, said in an interview to the corporate magazine of gas giant Gazprom published on Tuesday.

“Gazprom Energoholding is considering several promising sites, pre-front end engineering and design works are going on, and we will use the results to consider a priority project for construction of a wind power plant with the installed capacity of up to 100 MW,” he said.

Serbia has a great potential in winds, and the country’s government supports alternative energy projects, he said.
